Webinar description

IFRS 17 Insurance Contracts is applicable for annual periods beginning on or after 1 January 2023, and replaces the current accounting standard on insurance contracts, IFRS 4.  The implementation of IFRS 17 represents a major challenge for the insurance industry, as it introduces new measurement models and accounting principles, which fundamentally change existing accounting and reporting practices.

This course covers what brought about the need for IFRS 17, the scope of the accounting standard, the key changes from IFRS 4, the accounting and measurement models, as well as the main requirements for transition and disclosure in the financial statements.
