The Three lines of Defence model provides a simple and intuitive guidance for the board as well as the audit committee, to monitor the effectiveness of the company’s risk management, internal control and internal audit. Like every model the Three lines of Defence is a simplification of reality so that the underlying assumptions and the graphical representation of the model can be changed as necessary.

Trainer(s) bio and experience

Sandra is an experienced Insurance Manager and Risk and Compliance Officer with a demonstrated history of working in the financial services industry working with insurance brokers, captives, insurance companies and PCCs. She holds a strong knowledge of commercial and Legal Liability risks, corporate governance, compliance and risk management. She is known to be a reliable insurance and compliance professional with an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) and a Diploma in financial services operations and compliance. Sandra believes that learning is a continuous journey and has therefore embarked in reading an MBA with Henley Business School.

Sandra worked for 7 years with a global consulting firm, where she headed the insurance, risk and compliance units of the insurance management company in Malta. She has now founded Konforma and is acting as compliance officer on various entities licensed in Malta.
