The IFSP Foundation Certificate in Trusts Law and Management course will be starting on the 27th of April 2021. The course will kick off with Dr Max Ganado’s introductory lecture followed by Prof Meryl Thomas who will handle the lectures on General Principles.
The IFSP Certificate in Trusts Law and Management is recognised by the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the leading international professional association in the trusts field, as equivalent to its own Foundation Certificate. This provides holders of the IFSP Certificate with distinct advantages.
This year is the seventh time Prof Thomas will be lecturing for the IFSP ‘s trusts course. Prof Thomas has lectured at Birmingham City University and the Truman Bodden Law School in the Cayman Islands, and is Visiting Professor at both the Universite Paris Ouest Nanterre La Defense and the Institute of Law in Jersey.
The remainder of the 25 lectures in the course will be delivered by some of Malta’s leading practitioners in the field, including Dr Max Ganado, Dr Anthony Cremona and Mr Malcolm Becker. The course is designed to give practitioners, be they new entrants or more experienced but looking to add trust services to their offering, a solid basis in trusts. In fact, the IFSP Foundation Certificate in Trusts Law and Management is recognised by STEP (the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, the leading international association in this area) at equivalent to its own Foundation Certificate.
The course lectures will be held on average on two days a week, followed by an examination on the 3rd of July.

The course is open to accountants, auditors, lawyers, bankers and professionals in the financial services industry.

We recommend that professionals providing, or who intend to provide trustee or trust administration services, should attend this course.
How many CPE hours are allocated to this course?
This course reaches the required Continuing Professional Development standards and benchmarks of the MIA and so it is accredited with 32.5 Core CPE Hours.
