IFSP’s Foundation Certificate in Trusts Law and Management Course 2020
The IFSP Foundation Certificate in Trusts Law and Management course for 2020 is set to start on 14 April 2020. This year, the course will kick off with Dr Max Ganado’s introductory lecture followed by Prof Meryl Thomas who will again handle the lectures on General Principles.
The IFSP Certificate in Trusts Law and Management is recognised by the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the leading international professional association in the trusts field, as equivalent to its own Foundation Certificate. This provides holders of the IFSP Certificate with distinct advantages.
This is now the sixth time Prof Thomas will be lecturing for the IFSP ‘s trusts course. Prof Thomas has lectured at Birmingham City University and the Truman Bodden Law School in the Cayman Islands, and is Visiting Professor at both the Universite Paris Ouest Nanterre La Defense and the Institute of Law in Jersey.
The remainder of the 25 lectures in the course will be delivered by some of Malta’s leading practitioners in the field, including Dr Max Ganado, Dr Anthony Cremona and Mr Malcolm Becker. The course is designed to give practitioners, be they new entrants or more experienced but looking to add trust services to their offering, a solid basis in trusts. In fact, the IFSP Foundation Certificate in Trusts Law and Management is recognised by STEP (the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, the leading international association in this area) at equivalent to its own Foundation Certificate.
The course lectures will be held on average on two days a week, with an examination scheduled for 4 July 2020.

The fee covers an extensive set of course notes, all lecturing, and all costs related to the examination. As an added bonus for course participants who are not IFSP members, the fee also covers an Associate Membership with our Institute until the end of the year.

Lectures will be delivered live through Zoom, following the already published schedule. We are making arrangements to run the examination online as well so, lockdown or no lockdown, the certificate is still within reach.
