Online Seminar: Reporting to the National FDI Screening Office

Practitioners have the obligation to screen any Foreign Direct Investment they handle, originating from third countries (that is, any country which is not a member of the EU), on grounds of security and public order. The screening is carried out by the National FDI Screening Office (NFDIS Office).

Thus far, the MBR has forwarded new registrations to the NFDIS Office while its reporting systems were under development. As of this year, however, practitioners are required to report directly to the NFDIS Office, using the form available on their website at http://www.nfdismalta.com/.

Mario Galea and Bethany Magro from the NFDIS Office will be explaining the reporting procedures to IFSP members, and taking questions on what the implications of this process are on Thursday, 21 January at 16:00. Dr Stephen Attard will moderate the session for the IFSP. The seminar is to be held remotely on Zoom.

There is no charge for IFSP members attending this session; please register for it through the link below. Should you have any questions, you may put them to the speakers during the registration process.
