Foundation Certificate in Trusts Law and Management Course

The 20th IFSP Foundation Certificate in Trusts Law and Management course for 2023 is set to start on 18 April 2023. This year, the course will kick off with Dr Max Ganado’s introductory lecture, followed by Prof Meryl Thomas, who will again handle the lectures on General Principles.

The course has provided more than 1,000 practitioners with a grounding in trusts since it launched in 2003, and the IFSP Certificate in Trusts Law and Management has, since 2006, been recognised by the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the leading international professional association in the trusts field, as equivalent to its own Foundation Certificate. This provides holders of the IFSP Certificate with distinct advantages.

This is now the ninth time Prof Thomas will be lecturing for the IFSP ‘s trusts course. Prof Thomas has lectured at Birmingham City University and the Truman Bodden Law School in the Cayman Islands and is Visiting Professor at both the Universite Paris Ouest Nanterre La Defense and the Institute of Law in Jersey.

The remainder of the 25 lectures in the course will be delivered by some of Malta’s leading practitioners in the field. The course is designed to give practitioners, be they new entrants or more experienced but looking to add trust services to their offering, a solid basis in trusts. In fact, the IFSP Foundation Certificate in Trusts Law and Management is recognised by STEP (the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, the leading international association in this area) as equivalent to its own Foundation Certificate.

The course lectures will be held on average two days a week, with an examination scheduled for 8 July 2023.

The course is open to accountants, auditors, lawyers, bankers and professionals in the financial services industry.

We recommend that professionals providing, or who intend to provide trustee or trust administration services, should attend this course.
